Good nutrition is the foundation of healthy growth, effective learning, and a brighter future. Through Project POSHAN, SETU is committed to improving the health, nutrition, and well-being of children, women, and underserved communities by providing nutritious meals, promoting healthy lifestyles, and ensuring access to essential healthcare support.
Project POSHAN is built on the belief that good health and proper nutrition are fundamental to education, dignity, and sustainable development. By addressing both immediate nutritional needs and long-term health awareness, the project enables beneficiaries to lead healthier, more productive lives.
Nutritious Meals for Every Child
Every child studying at SETU’s schools receives nutritious, freshly prepared meals every day, ensuring they have the energy and nourishment needed to learn, grow, and thrive. The programme provides:
- Healthy breakfast
- Mid-morning snacks
- Freshly prepared, balanced midday meals
- Safe drinking water
- Seasonal fruits and nutritional supplements, wherever required
Meals are prepared in hygienic kitchens that adhere to high standards of food safety and nutrition.
POSHAN Workshops – Empowering Through Awareness
Creating lasting change requires knowledge as much as nourishment. Through regular workshops and community engagement programmes, Project POSHAN empowers beneficiaries and their families to make informed choices about health, hygiene, and nutrition. Our flagship awareness initiatives include:
- Nutrition Support Programme – Interactive sessions on balanced diets, healthy eating habits, child nutrition, maternal nutrition, anaemia prevention, and affordable nutritious meal planning, enabling families to make better nutritional choices using locally available foods.
- Oral Care Support Programme – Workshops focusing on oral hygiene, preventive dental care, proper brushing techniques, and the importance of maintaining good oral health for overall well-being.
- Health Care Support Programme – Awareness programmes and health education sessions covering preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, communicable disease prevention, immunisation awareness, women’s health, adolescent health, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Community Health & Nutrition Support
Project POSHAN extends its services beyond awareness by supporting vulnerable individuals and families through essential health and nutrition interventions. These include:
- Distribution of dignity napkins to adolescent girls and women to promote menstrual hygiene, health, confidence, and dignity.
- Distribution of nutritious food items and nutrition kits to vulnerable families and community members during health drives and outreach programmes.
- Nutrition and health awareness campaigns in schools and communities.
- Periodic health screening and medical camps in collaboration with healthcare professionals and partner organisations.
Health, Hygiene & Well-being
The programme also promotes preventive healthcare through:
- Regular health check-ups
- Growth and nutrition monitoring
- Hygiene and sanitation awareness
- Menstrual health education
- Deworming and preventive healthcare initiatives
- Referral support for specialised medical care, wherever required
These interventions contribute to healthier children, improved school attendance, and stronger, more resilient communities.
Nourishing Hope, Building Futures
Project POSHAN reflects SETU’s commitment to creating healthier communities where every child, woman, and family has the opportunity to thrive. Through nutritious meals, health education, preventive care, community workshops, and nutrition support initiatives, the project is building healthier lives while empowering communities with the knowledge and resources they need for a better future.
Every meal served, every workshop conducted, and every family supported brings us one step closer to a future where good health, nutrition, and dignity are accessible to all.
