Economic independence transforms not only individual lives but entire families and communities. Through Project SAKSHAM, SETU equips youth and women from underserved communities with industry-relevant vocational skills, enabling them to secure meaningful employment, become self-employed, and build sustainable livelihoods.
Our training programmes combine technical knowledge with practical experience, soft skills, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and career guidance, ensuring that every learner is prepared for the evolving world of work.
Skill Development Centre – Nithari, Noida
SETU began its skill development journey by establishing its first Skill Development Centre in Village Nithari, Noida, with the objective of empowering women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through vocational training.
What began as a tailoring training initiative has evolved into a comprehensive multi-skill centre offering courses in Basic Computer Skills, Tailoring, Fashion Design, and Beauty & Wellness. Today, the centre trains over 360 students annually, equipping them with market-oriented skills that enhance their employability and support self-employment opportunities.
Multi-Skill Centre – Sadarpur, Noida

Skill Development Centre – Habibpur, Greater Noida
In 2024, Project SAKSHAM expanded to Village Habibpur, Greater Noida, extending quality vocational training in Basic Computer Skills, Tailoring, and Fashion Design to rural communities. The facility trains over 300 students annually, creating pathways to employment and entrepreneurship for young women and youth in the region.
Creating Sustainable Livelihoods
Across all its centres, Project SAKSHAM has the capacity to train approximately 1,700 students every year, making it one of SETU’s flagship initiatives for economic empowerment. Training is complemented by career counselling, life skills, digital literacy, financial awareness, and placement support, ensuring participants are equipped not just with technical expertise but with the confidence and capabilities needed for long-term success.
Women Entrepreneurship & Self-Help Groups
Recognising that entrepreneurship is a powerful driver of economic empowerment, SETU has also promoted Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under Project SAKSHAM.
As part of this initiative, 35 women entrepreneurs were provided sewing machines to establish their own tailoring enterprises. These women now generate sustainable incomes, support their families, and inspire other women in their communities to pursue entrepreneurship and financial independence.
Impact Beyond Skills
Project SAKSHAM is more than a vocational training programme—it is a pathway to dignity, confidence, and economic resilience. By equipping women and youth with practical skills, entrepreneurial opportunities, and industry linkages, SETU is helping individuals transform their lives while contributing to stronger families, thriving communities, and a more inclusive economy.
